Taught by Richard Henry, ‘Exploring Islamic Geometric Patterns’ is our most intensive on-line foundation course, specifically aimed at beginners and builds from the simplest to designs to the most complex. It will enable participants to develop a solid basis in understanding classical designs and accurately drawing them, as well as showing multiple examples within their historic context.
There are 15 classes in total, equivalent to a 15 week course, each class is a minimum of 2.5 hours, a total of approximately 40 hours of teaching material. The material is divided into three sections, covering each main family of symmetry within Islamic geometric art. Students will receive life-time access to the material to work through at their own individual pace. Scroll through header images above to see examples of patterns covered and former students’ work.
