Art of Islamic Pattern are happy to confirm a five-day workshop in Marrakech, Morocco. The study trip will include visits to some of the most remarkable architectural masterpieces in the Islamic world: including the Ben Youssef Madrasa (14th century) the Bahia Palace (19th C), the Saadian Tombs (16th C) and other unique monuments.
The course will be hosted in a beautiful traditional riad in the heart of the medina and offers the opportunity to experience making geometric and biomorphic designs using traditional methods in the context of a UNESCO world heritage site. There will be a traditional Zouak painting with a local master. Participants will make their own set of donkey hair brushes and complete a floral and woven geometric panel.
