Have you ever wondered how intricate wooden artworks—made of hundreds of perfectly fitted shapes—are created? This immersive marquetry workshop invites you to experience the craft for yourself.
Over the course of the weekend, you’ll learn the full process of traditional wood marquetry: selecting and working with exotic hardwoods from around the world, cutting precise geometric forms, mastering specialist knives and chisels, and composing your own unique design. You’ll assemble your artwork piece by piece—sometimes hundreds of individual elements—before pressing the finished composition onto a wooden panel.
Alongside expert guidance in technique, you’ll gain insight into wood selection, pattern construction, and surface finishing. By the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a fully completed marquetry panel of your own creation: a finely crafted artwork that reflects both the heritage of the craft and your personal design.
