Learn about the various techniques used to make tiles in the Islamic lands, from Zelij mosaics to Iznik tiles and make your own set of ceramic tiles over 2 Sundays!
The first session will include an introduction and demonstrations to the world of ceramics. Participants will then choose a pattern and using a plaster batt to press a number of Earthenware tiles. Between the two sessions these tiles will be air dried and then Bisque fired to 1060 degrees°C.

The seconded extended session will be dedicated to colour theory and painting the tiles with glaze. The tiles are then fired again to 1180°C, they will be ready to be hung on the wall, they will also be suitable for outdoors or to be used as a trivet.
