Taught by Richard Henry, this Geometry Primer workshop is suitable for beginners, or those seeking to refresh their skills.
This is second in a series of ON-LINE workshops, introducing key geometric principles and ‘starter’ patterns. Each class length is limited to 90 minutes in length.
This week we will recreate the classic Breath of the Compassionate design, examining its variations and exploring its potential for creating multi-level self similar designs. There will be a brief contextual slide show examining historical examples and a discussion of the symbolism and origin of the name. A workshop video and additional supporting material, including a PDF handout detailing the steps undertaken to re-create the design, will be available to download to ALL registrants. Although this can be taken as a stand-alone workshop, we will build upon themes introduced in Geometry Primer 1 which can be downloaded from our archive. . (Scroll through gallery in banner above to see images of historical designs typical of the patterns that we will examine in this series and former students’ work ).
On-line Registration Fee: Single Class £12 / Full Series of 8 classes £70
You will receive payment confirmation and within 48 hours before the start of the workshop, a link with joining instructions for the zoom workshop will be sent my email.
