Córdoba Study Trip
6 – 9 April 2027
(Including a day excursion to Seville)
Open to all abilities
Córdoba, once the largest city in Europe and the brilliant intellectual and artistic centre of Islamic Spain.
Our classes will be held in the beautiful courtyard spaces of Casa Árabe, a cultural centre dedicated to dialogue between Spain and the Arab world. Located beside the Great Mosque of Córdoba, Casa Árabe occupies historic buildings arranged around elegant Andalusian patios, offering a calm and atmospheric setting for study in the heart of the old city.
Throughout the week we will explore the extraordinary architecture of the Mezquita, one of the most important monuments of Islamic architecture in Europe. Students will study and render details of the mosque’s remarkable façade and interior spaces, examining the geometric structures, vegetal ornament, and architectural rhythms that define its design.
As in Granada, the programme is enriched by the participation of local guides and craftsmen, who will share specialist knowledge and traditional techniques connected to the artistic heritage of Al-Andalus.

The course also includes a day excursion to Seville, where we will explore further examples of Islamic and Mudéjar architecture within the historic city.
Working from within Córdoba’s historic centre, this programme offers a rare opportunity to study Islamic pattern and architectural ornament directly from the monuments of Al-Andalus themselves.
Course Fee: £630
Participants joining both the Granada Study Trip and Córdoba programmes may take advantage of a 10% combined course discount, offering the opportunity to experience a deeper study journey through the artistic heritage of Al-Andalus.
