Granada Study Trip

In March 2027, Art of Islamic Pattern invites you to join a five-day immersive study programme in Granada, exploring the extraordinary artistic legacy of Al-Andalus.

Our base will be in the historic Albaicín, the medieval Moorish quarter of Granada, where narrow cobbled streets wind through whitewashed houses overlooking the Alhambra and the snow-capped Sierra Nevada beyond. Classes will be held at the Centro Cultural de la Mezquita de Granada, a beautiful cultural centre beside the Great Mosque of Granada and one of the most inspiring places in the city to study Islamic art.

During the week we will explore the breathtaking ornament of the Nasrid Palaces of the Alhambra, one of the most refined artistic achievements of the Islamic world. Through guided observation and practical drawing sessions, students will learn to analyse and reconstruct the remarkable geometric and biomorphic patterns that adorn the palace walls.

The programme combines hands-on creative practice with cultural immersion, enriched by contributions from local guides and traditional craftsmen who will offer deeper insight into the artistic and cultural heritage of the region.

Participants who wish to continue their Andalusian journey may combine this programme with the Córdoba Study Trip. When booking both courses together, a 10% combined programme discount is applied.
