In April 2026Art of Islamic Pattern invites you on an unforgettable five-day workshop in Al-Andalus, Spain, exploring the timeless beauty of Granada and Córdoba.

    Granada

Immerse yourself in the living legacy of Islamic Spain as we study the stunning patterns of the Nasrid Palaces of the Alhambra. Our programme blends hands-on creative practice with rich cultural immersion:

    • Practical classes in geometry and biomorphic design
    • Guided tours and lectures led by expert local specialists
    • A unique opportunity to learn traditional Moorish leatherwork from a master craftsman

Classes will be held in the Centro Cultural de la Mezquita de Granada, perched at the top of the Albaicín. Surrounded by the cobbled streets of this medieval Moorish district, with breathtaking views across to the Alhambra, you’ll be creating art in one of the world’s most inspiring settings — a UNESCO World Heritage site.

    Córdoba

Step into Córdoba, once the largest city in Europe and the vibrant cultural and economic heart of the Islamic world. Here, our classes take place in a 14th-century venue nestled in the winding streets of the Moorish quarter around the Great Mosque (Mezquita).

Students will study and render details of the Mezquita’s magnificent façade, exploring its architectural features, geometric designs, and biomorphic motifs. Surrounded by centuries of history, you’ll deepen both your artistic skills and your understanding of this remarkable city’s legacy.

✨ This workshop is more than a course — it’s a journey into the heart of Islamic art, architecture, and culture, taught in the very places where it was born.
