Canary Wharf ~ Free event
Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 March
Crossrail Place Roof Garden
Carve your own rosette over one weekendAs part of our Faith Events programme, the team from Art of Islamic Pattern will be joining us in the Crossrail Place Roof Garden for two free workshops exploring Islamic Art on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March from 12 noon to 4pm.
These workshops invite the public to take part in the collective construction of a series of large-scale bamboo polyhedral structures, ranging from 1 to 5 metres in diameter.
Working together, participants will help assemble geometric forms built from repeating units, learning how complex structures can emerge from simple proportional systems. The sessions are open and flexible — visitors are welcome to join at any time, whether for a short introduction or a longer hands-on experience.
Designed as a community building exercise, the workshop welcomes all ages and abilities, offering an engaging introduction to Islamic geometric art through making, collaboration, and shared discovery. Once completed, the structures will remain in situ for a period, transforming the space into an immersive geometric installation.
You can view more work by the fantastic Art of Islamic Pattern team on their Instagram page as well as through their website.
Open to all abilities.
